Physical Disabilities Martial Arts
Spirit Sport Karate & Kickboxing club from Sutton-in-Ashfield travelled to the Mansfield Portland College recently to deliver a free trial session.
The Portland is a specialist residential college for a wide range of people with physical disabilities.
The session was well received by the college students and their carers. The carers were amazed by how much was achieved by the participants, as they had never done this kind of activity before.
Chief instructor Chris Clarke said “both the students of the college and my own students found the whole experience extremely rewarding and enjoyable, in fact upon returning to our own club the members that missed out this time can’t wait until we go again.”
Chris also stated that some of the clubs students had said that taking part in this session was their most rewarding time in martial arts to date.
More sessions are sure to follow in the coming months. |
